How does it work?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows you to use your existing qualifications and experience towards the entry requirements for an LIBF qualification. This has previously been known as an exemption.
You can make a claim for RPL as part of your application (see below for details). We then assess whether your prior learning can exempt you from any of the units or modules.
Application process for Recognition of Prior Learning
Follow these steps to ensure your application meets the requirements and to avoid having to re-apply.
Step one
Register for a professional education qualification
Step 2
Have you previously achieved an academic or professional body qualification?
Does it have at least 80% match to a current unit / module / qualification relating to the one you wish to study with us?
Have you achieved it in the last 10 years?
Have you registered for your next qualification within the last four weeks?
Step 3
Apply using the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form
Typical response time for a decision on an RPL application is ten working days, however if further research is required before reaching a decision, you’ll be notified.
RPL credits will not be equal to full qualifications. You will be required to complete a substantial part, typically 50% or greater, of the qualification.
Step 4
Pay the fee for the RPL application, if the exemption is successful.
