A month of growth and connection at LIBF
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a student at LIBF?
This October, our London campus was buzzing with all sorts of events that helped students build practical skills, make new connections, and feel part of a community. And we made sure everyone had the chance to join in and grow together, by offering virtual access for our online degree students too.
The events below are just a sneak peek of the opportunities waiting for you when you choose to study with us. Let’s dive into what made this month special.
18 October: Graduation at London Guildhall
Graduation is, without a doubt, the biggest event in our calendar year. To celebrate it this year, we gathered at the Guildhall in London on Friday 18 October to celebrate this momentous occasion with students, family, and friends.
Graduation is more than just a day of awarding degrees – it’s a celebration of each student’s journey and all they’ve achieved. During this year's inspiring event, we celebrated the hard work, commitment, and growth our students have shown. Events like these truly bring our community together in a powerful way.

Graduation 2024: the highlightsOctober: Celebrating Black History Month
Throughout October, we marked Black History Month by spotlighting the experiences, perspectives, and voices of our students.
Through a series of interviews, students shared their personal stories, insights, and reflections on heritage, identity, and the impact of Black history in their lives.
These conversations enriched our understanding and reminded us of the diverse perspectives that make up the LIBF community.
Watch now on Youtube10 October: World Mental Health Day
To mark World Mental Health Day this year, our Student Support and Wellbeing Manager, Sena Akbulut led an insightful session on positive mental health in the workplace. Building a rewarding career means knowing how to balance work and wellbeing, so we designed this session to help our students find that balance.
As well as learning about the importance of mental health in the workplace, students who attended learned ways to manage stress, navigate work-life challenges, and support their mental health.
For students looking to build on these skills, our regular careers events cover other valuable aspects of preparing for the workplace—from finding the right role to adapting to new environments.
25 October: Resilience workshop
While all our courses are designed to give our students the skills they need to excel as soon as they reach the workplace, resilience is one of those skills that can really give you the extra edge. This workshop, led by an external expert, Anne-Sophie Fluri was designed to empower our students to handle stress effectively, develop a positive outlook, and build skills for managing challenges with confidence.
Through interactive activities, discussions, and expert insights, participants learned practical techniques to manage stress, cultivate a growth mindset, and integrate self-care into their routines. Resilience isn’t just about bouncing back – it’s about growing through each experience. And we’re here to support that growth.
30 October: Breathe to Succeed workshop
To support student wellbeing, we introduced students to the powerful practice of breathwork to support their well-being. Led by Karen Farrell from Mindful Station, this session taught students how to harness their breath to reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost relaxation.
Students who attended learned simple, effective breathing exercises to balance emotions, overcome negative thoughts, and develop a growth mindset.
With practical tools for managing pre-exam stress and enhancing daily motivation, students left feeling more equipped to handle life’s pressures. This session was all about using breathwork and mindfulness as accessible ways to feel calmer, happier, and ready for the challenges ahead.
