LIBF is pleased to announce our Device Bank partnership with Good Things Foundation, the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity. Through this collaboration, LIBF has donated a range of IT equipment to support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to fix the digital divide.

This partnership aims to help individuals across the UK gain access to the digital tools and skills necessary to connect with essential services, enhance work opportunities, and reduce social isolation.

Empowering communities through technology

Digital exclusion is a pressing issue in the UK, with millions of people unable to access essential online services due to a lack of devices and/or digital skills (Lloyds UK Digital Index Study, 2023). Good Things Foundation, through initiatives like the National Device Bank, has been at the forefront of efforts to address this challenge. The Foundation has already helped nearly 10,000 individuals gain access to devices that allow them to connect with vital services, enhance their employment prospects, and improve their overall quality of life.

"Providing access to a device is a critical part of our support, enabling people to participate fully in society. We’re thrilled to have LIBF on board as we work to create a more digitally inclusive future."

Natasha Early

Partnerships Manager, Good Things Foundation

Our commitment to social responsibility

This partnership reflects LIBF's dedication to accessibility and social responsibility. By donating IT equipment, we’re contributing to the reduction of e-waste and ensuring that more people can benefit from the opportunities that come with digital connectivity.

Connecting online is essential for work, education, and everyday tasks. Through this partnership, we aim to ensure that those without access to technology can stay connected and take advantage of the same opportunities.

"We’re excited to support the amazing work that Good Things Foundation deliver and hope to continue with further donations in the future. "

Freddie McCann

Partnership Manager, LIBF

What this partnership means for the future

LIBF’s partnership with Good Things Foundation marks a significant step towards creating a lasting positive impact. By supporting digital inclusion initiatives, LIBF is helping to build a future where everyone, regardless of their background, can benefit from digital technology.

Good Things Foundation is committed to driving these efforts even further. Partnerships Manager Natasha Early emphasised their dedication to expanding support to reach 1 million people across the UK by the end of 2025, with initiatives specifically tailored to the diverse needs of local communities.

Looking ahead, Good Things Foundation will host its annual Get Online Week from 14-20 October 2024. This key event in their digital inclusion efforts, established in 2007, will unite community partners across the UK to help thousands of people improve their digital skills. In 2023 alone, it supported over 16,000 individuals in bridging the digital divide.
