Raakhi Odedra is a Deputy Agent at the Bank of England working as part of a network of staff who monitor economic conditions across the UK.
For this session, Raakhi will present an update on the Bank of England's latest Financial Stability Report and actions from the Financial Stability Committee. The Financial Stability Committee is tasked with monitoring risks to the financial system, including household indebtedness, consumer credit, property markets as well as global developments and financial markets. It also has a range of powers to reduce risks and help build the resilience of the banking system.
As the UK prepares to negotiate to leave the EU this will be an important update on developments in the UK and international economy.

Raakhi has been a Deputy Agent at the Bank of England since September 2015.

Prior to joining the Bank, she worked as an economist at the Scottish Government for eight years. She was also an Overseas Development Institute Fellow in Rwanda from 2005 to 2007. Her broader experience includes teaching internationally.
Raakhi holds a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford.
